TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Riverside Airport announced it reopened its main runway and resumed all operations following a plane crash on Thursday.
At around 5:30 p.m., first responders were called to the airport for a two-engine plane that had crashed and flipped upside down.
Tulsa Police Department said the two people inside the plane were a flight instructor and a student.
Police said the aircraft was a 1966 Piper PA-30.
On Thursday, the Tulsa Riverside Airport shared the following statement in part:
“We extend our sincere thanks to the Tulsa Fire Department, EMSA, Tulsa Police Department, and Jenks Fire Department for their swift response and professionalism. We also appreciate everyone’s patience during the temporary closure.”
