POTEAU, Okla. — Authorities have arrested a woman in LeFlore County after her husband was found dead.
On Sunday, the Poteau Police Department requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate a suspicious death. Officers responded before 12:45 a.m. to a residence in the 200 block of South Earl Street in Poteau regarding a welfare check. When they arrived, they found a 45 year old man deceased. Officials determined he suffered from a gunshot wound.
Poteau Police and OSBI both worked the scene and based on the evidence gathered, investigators learned that the victim’s wife shot and killed him.
The victim’s wife was arrested and booked into LeFlore County Jail on a first-degree murder complaint.
We are choosing not to name the suspect’s name at this time as he has not been officially charged yet.
