Motorcyclist suffers only minor injuries after crashing into light pole

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department said a motorcyclist miraculously only suffered minor injuries after his bike crashed into a light pole and careened back into traffic.

On Tuesday morning, authorities said traffic on the Tisdale Parkway came to a standstill after a motorcyclist lost control of his bike and ended up crashing it.

According to the motorcyclist, he’d been driving southbound on the Tisdale when his handlebars started a “Speed Wobble,” also known as a “Tank Slapper” or “Death Wobble.”

Authorities said the rider lost control of his bike and veered off the highway, crashing into a light pole and knocking it down.

Police said that initial crash ripped the front forks off the man’s bike.,

At this point, officers said the man and his motorcycle skidded back onto the road, but thankfully only suffered minor injuries that were able to be treated by EMSA at the scene.

The department said the rider had been wearing a helmet when the crash occurred.
