OWASSO, Okla. — Found a lost pet in Owasso? You can now check for a microchip yourself.
The City says Owasso’s Animal Control Division has installed two, self-service ‘Check the Chip’ Scanning Stations.
One is located in the parking lot at Owasso Police Headquarters at 111 N. Main St. and the other is located in the parking lot at the Owasso Fire Department Headquarters at 11933 E. 116th St. North.
The scanners are accessible any time, day and night.
City officials say it will save people a trip to a vet or the City’s shelter, saving time and resources and hopefully reuniting lost pets with their families more quickly.
They say the non-profit group Best Friends Animal Society gave some grant money to pay for the stations.
