TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols is hosting another round of Community Conversations next month; this time the subject is public safety.
Mayor Nichols and other city leaders say they want to hear from you and talk about your concerns.
The city says residents will be able to chat with members of the police, fire, animal services, emergency management, and other agencies about what is happening in their district.
The meetings were created by Mayor Nichols to give residents the opportunity to meet Tulsa’s new public safety leadership and engage in meaningful discussions on public safety.
The Community Conversations series will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the following dates/locations:
Monday, Oct. 26 – Tulsa Tech Lemley Memorial Campus, 3420 S. Memorial Dr., Tulsa, OK, 74145
Thursday, Oct. 29 – Herman & Kate Kaiser YMCA, 5400 S. Olympia Ave., Tulsa, OK, 74107
Monday, Nov. 2 – Hardesty Regional Library’s Frossard Auditorium, 8316 E. 93rd St., Tulsa, OK, 74133
Thursday, Nov. 5 – Rudisill Regional Library’s BOK Harmony Hall, North Meeting Room, 1017 N. Greenwood Ave., Tulsa, OK, 74106
Nichols says that during each conversation, residents will have the opportunity to talk with other leaders about the priorities and focus areas they believe are most important regarding public safety in the city and in their neighborhoods.
Another city leader is getting out and about in the community as well.
Tulsa’s new police chief Jonathan Brooks has been meeting with members of the community and has held one meeting
The next opportunity to chat with the Chief is tonight, September 14, at a meeting in District 1 at the 36th Street North Event Center at 6:30 – 8 p.m.
District 1 City Councilor Vanessa Hall-Harper will also be there.
The event is held in partnership with the Terence Crutcher Foundation.
