STILLWATER, Okla. — A 15-year-old student at Stillwater High School was taken into custody on Thursday after a gun was found in their backpack.
The Stillwater Police Department said it was made aware of a student who was reportedly in possession of a gun on school property at around 10:30 a.m.
School Resource Officers immediately found and detained the student. Police said the student was taken into custody without incident.
The gun was found in the student’s backpack.
Police said no reported injuries or threats were made. There is also no ongoing threat to students or staff. As a precaution, there will be an increased police presence at the high school.
The situation remains under investigation.
