Ascension St. John to host free medical mission event in Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. — Ascension St. John is hosting a Medical Mission at Home event on Saturday, May 2. 

The event will offer free medical, dental, vision, behavioral health, and pharmaceutical services to Oklahomans who need care.

“Our mission is rooted in bringing compassionate, high-quality care directly to people where they are while honoring their dignity and unique needs,” said Ron Tremblay, Chief Mission Integration Officer at Ascension St. John. “Together with hundreds of dedicated associates and community partners, we are expanding access to whole person care that supports body, mind, and spirit, ensuring our most vulnerable neighbors receive the care, respect, and support they deserve.” 

Over 400 healthcare professionals, volunteers, and community partners will be at this event offering a multitude of services such as: 

  • General health assessments and consultations 
  • Dental care examinations 
  • Pharmacy prescription refills 
  • Food resources 
  • Spiritual care 
  • Community resources 

The Medical Mission at Home initiative is aimed at giving adequate and complete care to people who may be facing barriers to traditional healthcare access. 

This free event does not require insurance, payment, or an appointment. The services are offered on a first-come-first-served basis. 

The event begins at 8 a.m. and lasts until 3 p.m. at the Common Good Northwest Tulsa Hub (19 South 49th West Avenue). 

Care teams will work to schedule follow up visits with patients who need them.
