Housing Solutions Tulsa recently released its annual “Point-in-Time Count” of individuals and families experiencing homelessness, completed as a mandate from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The annual count shows only a brief snapshot of homelessness in Tulsa, but there are long-term problems that can cause homelessness.

Lack of affordable housing, loss of income, mental health challenges, job loss, and substance abuse are the top five factors. There are currently 1,443 homeless people in Tulsa, and unsheltered homelessness declined by 31% in 2026.
