TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department said a K-9 Unit tracked down a man accused of stealing a vehicle and running from officers.
On Sunday around 5 p.m., officers responded to a call about suspicious activity at a power substation near East 77th Place and East 50th Street.
Officers arrived and saw a maroon Chevy Trailblazer parked on the property with the driver’s door open. Police said two men were standing nearby and started running away as officers pulled in.
A few minutes later, a call came in about a stolen Trailblazer matching the description of the one found by officers around a mile away.
Officers began searching the area to find the two men who ran away.
Officers tracked down one of the suspects behind a dental office near East 51st Street South and South Fulton Avenue. He was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect told officers he was at the substation because a friend asked him to help move a generator there. Officers found the generator lying next to the stolen trailblazer.
He was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and attempted grand larceny.
Police said the other suspect is still outstanding.
