TPD arrest two accused of stealing copper from building

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Police arrested two people who are accused of stealing copper from a building in north Tulsa.

According to police, officers responded to a call about suspicious activity outside a building near Apache and North Sheridan before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. When they arrived on scene, they saw a suspect running away toward the south side of the building.

When officers turned on their lights and sirens, the suspect stopped and was detained.

Officers then walked around the building toward where the suspect was running and found a second suspect outside standing next to several pickup trucks. One of the trucks had its truck bed filled with colored wiring and bare copper.

Officers found several tools used to steal copper scattered around the two trucks, along with an electric panel missing its wiring.

The suspects were arrested and taken to Tulsa County Jail for conspiracy to commit a felony and entering with intent to steal copper.
