Last week, Tulsa Police responded to a robbery call, and the victim told police a friend had set him up.
The victim told Officers he had talked to his friend, Dwayne Hastings, and told him that he’d just hit big at the casino. Hastings asked him to hang out, and the two met up at the Maverik gas station near 41st and Sheridan.
Police said Hastings told the victim he needed to go up to an apartment, and when he left, a masked man robbed the victim of his phone, wallet, money, and medication.
Reports said the masked suspect was later identified as 33-year-old Mandell Kent, and he told police that Hastings set up the robbery.
Kent was arrested for Conjoint Robbery and Possession of a Firearm after a felony conviction, and Hastings was arrested for conjoint robbery, possession of a firearm after a felony conviction, destroying evidence, and obstruction.
