TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Fire Department responded to an attic fire at a local duplex after the home was hit by a lightning strike.
On Monday morning, authorities said a duplex near East Admiral Boulevard and North Delaware Avenue was struck by lightning, leading to a fire breaking out in the attic.
The department said the duplex’s residents weren’t home, but two small dogs were inside.
Firefighters said the dogs were rescued and the home was searched before the fire was extinguished.
Thankfully, TFD said no one was hurt.
The department stated on social media, “Severe weather can create unexpected hazards, so stay alert, have a plan for your family and pets, and make sure your smoke alarms are working.”
