TULSA, Okla. — The Memorial Middle and High School Robotics Teams are returning to school as champions.
The two teams earned first place at the Regional SeaPerch Challenge, held March 28 at the Jenks Aquatic Center.
Both teams will now go on to represent the state of Oklahoma at the 2026 SeaPerch International Challenge at the University of Maryland, College Park in May. The team is currently fundraising for the tournament.
The robotics clubs are part of an afterschool STEM initiative through a partnership between Opp Project Tulsa Innovation Labs, and PartnerTulsa.
“Tulsa should be incredibly proud of these students and the educators who support them,” said Lauren Sivak, Executive Director of the Opp Project, LLC. “Their success demonstrates what’s possible when youth are given the opportunity to engage deeply with innovative, hands-on learning. Now it is up to us to get them to the tournament!”
