SKIATOOK, Okla. — Skiatook Paws and Claws Animal Rescue (SPACAR) is hosting a pop-up fostering event due to the amount of animals currently in their boarding facilities, explaining they need more space if they want to continue taking in animals.
“We have basically reached our max amount of dogs that we can house in boarding and cats, so we’re doing a big push this evening to get dogs and cats pushed out of boarding and into foster homes,” said Paige Bodden, the President of Skiatook Paws and Claws.
Bodden said it’s incredibly important SPACAR is able to continue intaking animals to make sure every animal in need can get help, care and the chance to find a forever home.
She encouraged anyone who is able to take a chance to try fostering one of the animals at their shelter.
While the event is specifically catered toward fosters, Bodden said the shelter is also completely open to helping people adopt a pet as well.
“We have all kinds of dogs and cats available: adults, puppies, cats, kittens, big dogs, small dogs. We’ve got purebred dogs. We’ve got dogs that don’t shed. Anything that you would want to look for will probably be here.”
The pop-up fostering event is being held at Skiatook Paws and Claws’ headquarters from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday.
For anyone who is unable to attend the event, Skiatook Paws and Claws is open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. every day except Sunday, which is when the organization is open from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
