TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa utility customers will be able to opt in or out of EMSAcare during the month of August.
From August 1 to 31, customers can make their selection online to either enroll or opt out of the upcoming service year, which starts September 1.
Customers can also call 311 to make changes. Those outside of city limits can call (918) 596-2100.
EMSAcare covers the cost of emergency ambulance transport for all permanent household members enrolled in the program.
Subscribers pay no additional out-of-pocket costs for EMSA emergency ambulance services.
To check on enrollment status, customers can look for a line on their utility bill for “EMSA medical services.”
The EMSAcare fee is $5.45 per month.
For customers without EMSAcare, transport rates will be updated and introduce a new “Treatment-in-Place” fee for those who are not transported to a hospital.
Rates for ambulance transport will also increase for those without EMSAcare. EMSA will continue to bill Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance or other third-party payers.
