TULSA, Okla. — The Republican primary debate for District Attorney will go on as schedule, despite a candidate not being in attendance.

The Tulsa Republican Club and Women for Tulsa scheduled a debate between incumubent Steve Kunzweiler and challenger Colleen McCarty. However, McCarty declined the event and now organizers say that Kunzweiler will take the stage and answer questions regarding Tulsa County issues.

“We remain committed to fostering an informed electorate,” said Christy Rawlings, Chair of Women for Tulsa. “Although we are disappointed that not all candidates chose to participate, we believe it is important to move forward and provide a platform for public dialogue.”

The event will be moderated by KRMG Morning News Host Skyler Cooper.
