TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa firefighter Cason Savage was badly burned while battling a fire last May at the Port of Catoosa.
The Tulsa Fire Department says despite sustaining serious injuries in the line of duty, Cason demonstrated remarkable strength and determination throughout his treatment at Hillcrest Medical Center’s Alexander Burn Unit.
Cason underwent several medical procedures, including skin graft surgery.
Tulsa firefighters are now raising money to help ease the financial strain on Cason and his family.
The fundraiser is Tuesday, July 7th at McNellie’s Pub downtown from 5-8 pm.
McNellie’s has agreed to donate a portion of the proceeds during that timeframe to help Cason’s recovery.
Firefighters will also pass the boot to collect cash donations. There will also be cards with a QR code to help donate, and you can also donate with Venmo.
The Tulsa Firefighters Benevolent Fund has a Venmo account.
It is in Venmo @TulsaFBF. Firefighters say there is a fake Venmo account mirroring theirs, so make sure to use the correct account @TulsaFBF under “Businesses”.
If you click on that one, it will have our Tulsa Firefighters Benevolent Fund logo as the profile picture.
The fake one is @TulsaFBF_ and has our Local 176 logo as the profile picture.
Firefighters say DO NOT send money to the one using the underscore with the Local 176 logo.
Make sure to put Cason Savage in the “What’s this for?” box when paying so that it will be sent directly to Cason and his family.
